In a modest ceremony on February 11th, the Owatonna community gathered to honor the commitment and service of its Police Reserve Officers. These individuals volunteer their time to ensure the safety and security of our city. Recognized for their dedication were Michael Leyva with nine years of service, Steven Wrede with five years, Dietrich Piepho with three years, and Alex Stenzel and Don McCann, who both have dedicated a year. We also acknowledge Dakota DuChene in their first year of service.

Their roles are critical, helping police officers with various calls for service and managing events that draw our community together. During emergency situations, they're called upon as invaluable support. Captain Josh Sorensen expressed gratitude for their service, reflecting the larger sentiment of the Owatonna community.

For those who feel the pull to serve, joining the Reserve Force is an opportunity to contribute to our city's safety. Interested individuals can contact Sergeant Val Satre at 507-774-7219 or Pam Roberts at 507-774-7200 for details on how to apply. As their ranks grow, so does the collective security of Owatonna, a city where everyday heroes support the peace and well-being of all.
