CDI's Expansion Unveils New Horizons in Owatonna
Owatonna celebrates the grand opening of Climate by Design International's expansive new facility, a testament to local growth and community involvement.
Amidst the industrial heart of Owatonna, a new era dawns with the grand opening of Climate by Design International's (CDI) 200,000 square-foot facility. Hosted on December 19, the ceremony marked a notable expansion for this homegrown company, with key figures such as Mayor Thomas Kuntz and City Council Members in attendance.
At the intersection of Festal Place NW and West Bridge Street now stands the new state-of-the-art CDI building. It replaces the company’s former 66,000 square-foot locale, evidence of the rapid growth that founders Tom and Susan Peterson have fostered since CDI's inception in the Owatonna Incubator.
The city showed its support through Tax Increment Financing, a strategic investment that underscores the importance of this expansion for local employment. With the promise of many new jobs, CDI is poised to broaden its market reach, undoubtedly impacting the local economy positively.
CDI’s community involvement—contributing to myriad projects and events—speaks to their corporate ethos. Moreover, a recent collaboration with Rise Modular demonstrates CDI’s commitment to supporting the workforce during seasonal lulls.
Mayor Kuntz and attending City Council Members hailed the facility as a beacon of progress and innovation, one that stands to not only benefit CDI but also to reinforce the fabric of the community it calls home.
