Owatonna’s summer is on the horizon, and with it, the call for youth sports coaches echoes through our community. The playing fields of soccer, baseball, and beyond offer more than just the chance to engage in athletic endeavors — they represent a place where our future leaders learn invaluable life lessons. The opportunity to shape these young minds is open, and volunteers with a heart for mentorship and development are sought to be the architects of tomorrow's community pillars.

The role of a coach extends far beyond teaching the sports itself; it is about instilling camaraderie, perseverance, and integrity. Experience is not the cornerstone of this role — enthusiasm and commitment fill that space. Whether you’ve been an athlete, a teacher, or simply possess a zeal for uplifting youth through sports, your contribution can spark a lifelong passion in these young players.

Interested individuals are encouraged to step forward. You can reach out to the Owatonna Parks and Recreation department at 507.444.4321, email them at parkrec@owatonna.gov, or visit their website at owatonna.gov for more information. The teams are forming, and your chance to make a lasting impact on Owatonna’s youth is just a whistle away.
