This holiday season, Owatonna Parks and Recreation is inviting the community to participate in their whimsical Elf in the Park event. Timmy, Buddy, and Candy, the beloved elves, will take adventurous winter journeys throughout the town between December 1st and 20th, immersing the whole community in festive activities.

The Elf in the Park event encourages residents to follow the Owatonna Parks and Recreation Facebook page for frequent updates about elf sightings in various locations. Each time the elves are spotted, a photograph of their location will be posted online, challenging the public to find the spot and take an 'elfie' (selfie) with Timmy, Buddy, and Candy to be entered into a drawing. With each successful elfie submitted, participants increase their chances of winning a 2024 River Springs Water Park Season Pass! Parents are encouraged to watch for posts on specific dates, which include December 1, 4, 6, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, and 20.

To submit an elfie, participants can either comment with a photo on the Facebook post or email the photo to parkrec@ci.owatonna.mn.us. The more spots discovered, the more chances there are to win the grand prize.

This event not only offers a fun outing for families, but it also provides an opportunity to explore the many festive activities available in Owatonna during the holiday season. In addition, the Elf in the Park event encourages residents to visit local businesses, positively impacting the town's economy during this festive period. Join the community in this magical adventure, following Timmy, Buddy, and Candy through town as they explore parks, trails, and take part in the holiday lighted parade down Cedar Avenue. Embrace the holiday spirit and enjoy the picturesque winter scenery that makes Owatonna a true winter wonderland.
