As the gears of democracy turn towards the upcoming 2024 elections, citizens of Owatonna prepare for a series of crucial voting dates. According to Resolution 112-23 passed by the City Council, the Presidential Nominating Primary Election will take place on March 5, the Primary Election on August 13, and the General Election on November 5.

With a vision to enhance voter accessibility, two significant changes have come into effect. Firstly, the Third Ward/First Precinct will cast votes at the Chambers, Charles S. Crandall Center, which replaces the former polling site at Owatonna Arts Center. This shift aims to provide level-entry voting and ample parking space. The Fourth Ward/Second Precinct, previously housed at the Steele County History Center, is relocating to the Christ Community Covenant Church to avoid clashing with the Steele County Fair's schedule.

The City Council's resolutions ensure that all registered voters from these updated precincts are notified through postcards about the changes. This proactive approach aims to maintain a seamless transition and uphold the community's commitment to accessible and participatory elections.
